Launching across the UK from Tuesday 6th October, our new menu embraces comforting Autumnal ingredients and combines them with new iconic flavours to create a delicious new range of dishes.
Mouth-wateringly delicious Calamari (£6.20) will be added to the menu as a starter this autumn.
Calamari rings are lightly coated in breadcrumbs to produce the delightful combination of textures, which makes Calamari so popular. Served simply with a wedge of lemon and Caesar dressing, this lovely little dish will set the scene for the rest of the meal.
Risotto has long been a menu favourite at PizzaExpress and now risotto fans can rejoice as yet another variety is added to the menu. The new Risotto Mio GF V N(£5.90)combines chestnut and closed cup mushrooms with truffle to create a warming, sophisticated dish.
A new addition to the ‘Al Forno’ range, the Pennette Bolognese (£11.40) is a comforting oven baked dish.
Made using rich beef and porcini mushroom ragu, this dish has real depth and is topped with Gran Milano cheese, to add even more intensity to the dish. A real heart-warming and comforting dish for cold autumn and winter nights.
Earlier this year PizzaExpress ran a competition, ‘Create Your New Favourite’ to find a new pizza recipe to add to their menu. With over 60,000 entries, it was hard work to pick a winner, but Patricia Moroney’s creation was a clear winner, with the public vote choosing it over the other four finalists.
The winning pizza is the Romana Autunno (£13.60).
Inspired by the colours of autumn, with red chorizo, orange butternut squash and dark green spinach, combined with the creaminess of goat’s cheese and the warmth of chilli flakes, this dish embraces the very best things about the season.
In addition to the winning pizza, they’ll be other varieties launching on the menu this October.
Cheese fans of the world rejoice, for there is finally a pizza which indulges all cheese dreams. The new Formaggi 65 V (£11.00 Classic/£12.75 Romana) combines mozzarella with buffalo mozzarella and Gran Milano cheese before being baked. A final shaving of Gran Milano and an olive in the middle complete this cheese delight.
The new Soho 65 V(£11.55 Classic/£13.30 Romana), named after the birthplace of PizzaExpress, in Soho in 1965, this is a simple pizza made more flavoursome with the addition of creamy buffalo mozzarella.
A simple base of passata and mozzarella with black olives is cooked in the oven and then topped with rocket, shaved gran Milano and torn buffalo mozzarella. Also available with an upgrade of cured Italian meats (£1.75).
Napoletana 65 (£11.55 Classic/£13.30 Romana) is another celebration of PizzaExpress’ original recipes. A combination of delicious olives, capers and anchovies – all ingredients which have been on the menu since 1965.
This pizza is baked without cheese, and fresh buffalo mozzarella is torn onto the top before serving, to smooth out the punchy flavours in the base.
New to the menu this season, the Potato Nocciola V GF (£3.30)are a great accompaniment to any meal.
These small fluffy potato noisettes are baked in the oven and then served with Gran Milano cheese and fresh parsley. A great crunchy, fluffy mouthful of potato. Try with a drizzle of truffle oil to add extra punch.
An Italian take on the traditional doughnut, Bombolini V (£5.95)are small doughnut balls with a jam centre.
Baked in the oven and served with gelato, these are a great little dessert to round off a meal.
Find it too hard to decide on a dessert? Then the Sharing Trio V (£7.30) is for you.
Three desserts are served up to share with your table including a Dolcetti Lemon Posset, a Dolcetti Chocolate Brownie and two scoops of Primo Gelato.
A new addition to the Dolcetti range of small desserts, the Salted Caramel Profiteroles Dolcetti V (£5.20) are sure to be popular.
These beautiful profiteroles are filled with a creamy caramel and topped with a delicate crunchy salty topping. Perfect for those looking for something sweet to finish off their meal.
For only the second time in our 50 year history, a devoted customer is having their idea for a new pizza featured on the menu.
From 6 October, customers can order the Romana Autunno, the winning recipe in our ‘Create Your New Favourite’ competition. The creator of the new pizza, Patricia Moroney from Powerdham in Exeter, has also won £10,000 and a holiday to the Amalfi coast.
Exceeding all expectations, over 60,000 people entered the competition online, choosing from a list of 250 ingredients. Celebrity entrants included Made in Chelsea’s Binky Falstead and Jamie Laing, who created ‘The Binky’ and ‘The Lost Boi’. Entries were whittled down by a panel of judges to just five before going to the public vote.
Patricia’s pizza was inspired by the colours of autumn and features smoky chorizo, sweet, garlic-roasted butternut squash, creamy goat’s cheese, dark green spinach and chilli flakes. It comes on a thin and crispy Romana base and is finished with a drizzle of chilli oil, giving the Romana Autunno a spicy kick.
Patricia joined the pizzaiolos at PizzaExpress Taunton for the first, exclusive taste of her pizza and said, “I’m on cloud nine. I still can’t believe my pizza won or how delicious it tastes. I’m giving some of my winnings to two charities that are important to me – Force Cancer Charity and Swindon Young Carers, and I can’t wait to visit the Amalfi coast.”
PizzaExpress today announces changes to its tipping policy. From 6th October, the 8% administration fee on tips made by electronic card payment will be removed. This follows the introduction of a new automated system to distribute tips across the company’s 430 UK restaurants, employing 10,000 people.
The automated system has been developed over the last six months and is being launched following pilot trials to avoid any potential implementation issues. It replaces the more labour intensive manual procedure used to help redistribute tips among staff and to meet the company’s tax and legal obligations to HMRC.
Tips made on electronic card payments will now to be fully distributed among employees as agreed by the company’s Tronc committee. Currently, this independent group elects to give 30 per cent of card-based tips to cleaners, pizzaiolos and other kitchen staff; with the remaining 70 per cent going to the individual waiter as a reward for great customer service.

In its search for the UK’s Breastfeeding Friendly Hotspots, Medela UK has revealed that PizzaExpress is leading the way with its family friendly approach. Research carried out by the experts in breastfeeding, found that waiting staff, “…demonstrated a remarkable level of support for breastfeeding mothers with faultless feedback from the staff…”

Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions, and agreed to be bound by them, when entering this Competition.
Who may Enter
This Competition (#PizzaExpressMoments) is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 or over. You’ll need an Instagram, Twitter or Facebook account to take part.
Employees (or family members of employees) of any group company of the Promoter, companies associated with the Competition and all affiliates of such companies may not enter this Competition.
How to Enter
To take part in this Competition, simply take a photo or upload an old photo of a memorable moment you’ve experienced in a PizzaExpress restaurant.
Your entry must not include people for whom you do not have the permission to take a picture for your Competition entry. Where your picture includes people under the age of 18 years, you must have the permission of their parent or guardian to do so.
The Competition is open from 10:00am on Saturday 5th June 2015 until midnight on Tuesday 23rd June 2015.
In the first instance, winners will be notified via the social media platform through which they entered the Competition. Subsequently, the Promoter will ask the winner to contact them at an address that will be provided to them by the Promoter.
By entering the Competition, entrants agree that the Promoter has exclusive and unreserved rights to use their entries in any publicity materials subsequent to the Competition. Furthermore, by entering the Competition, all entrants agree that the Promoter has exclusive and unreserved rights to use their entries in any promotional activity during the running of the Competition.
The prize is the use of your photograph on promotional material that will appear in PizzaExpress restaurants. The prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, refunds, transfers, or cash equivalent payment will be allowed.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control. There is no cash alternative to the prize and unless the Promoter agrees otherwise in writing the prizes are non-refundable and non- transferable.
If a winner is not able, for any reason, to accept a prize, or cannot be contacted by the Promoter within seven (7) days of the first attempt to notify them, the Promoter then reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant.

d. any act or default of any third party supplier.

Proscuitto Fichi: created by Tomas Jurkiewski, a pizzaiolo from PizzaExpress’ Victoria Square restaurant in Belfast.
His elegant dish is served on a thin and crispy Romana base with creamy béchamel sauce, and topped with mozzarella and grated Gran Milano. Fresh out of the oven, it’s topped with rocket and perfectly ripened figs, marinated in balsamic vinegar, which beautifully complement delicate slices of prosciutto crudo. A sprinkle of fresh parsley, shavings of Gran Milano, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil finish the dish.
The judges, who selected Tomas’ pizza as part of an internal competition, liked the combination of figs and prosciutto so much, that a salad version of the dish has also been created. The Fichi Fresci uses the same, delicious combination of prosciutto crudo and fresh figs, marinated in balsamic vinegar. They are placed on a bed of seasonal leaves with red onion, creamy buffalo mozzarella, basil, parsley, pine kernels and a drizzle of PizzaExpress’ Honey & Mustard Dressing. The salad is served with a portion our Dough Balls.
